Rebuilding ocean and coastal areas with a focus on climate

Under the focus area of Marine Restoration, the emphasis lies on restoring degraded ecosystems, particularly areas with the greatest potential for absorbing and storing CO2, as well as preventing and reducing the impacts of natural disasters. The need for strengthened efforts is urgent, as global warming exacerbates the loss of biodiversity in marine and coastal ecosystems.

VELUX FONDEN collaborates with the Center for Marine Nature Restoration, which will evaluate all received applications for the rebuilding of marine and coastal areas.
