Interdisciplinary projects
We work to enhance people’s lives and opportunities in a democratic and sustainable society
Our ambition is that by 2030, VELUX FOUNDATION will be leading and trend-setting in the development of innovative collaborations, both internally in the foundation and externally in the application environments, with the aim of collectively contributing solutions to current and future societal challenges.
We therefore prioritize interdisciplinary collaborations between our grant areas and actively support projects that work within two or more of the foundation's four grant areas:
- Social initiatives
- A sea in balance
- Humanities and social science research and culture
- Transitions and changes of adult life
Do you have a project idea that combines the foundation's grant areas?
If you would like to know whether your project idea aligns with our objectives, you are welcome to fill out the inquiry form and send it to us.
This way, you will receive a non-binding assessment of whether your project idea falls within the foundation's focus areas. You will typically hear from us within a month.
After the assessment, you may be invited to submit a detailed application.
One of the latest interdisciplinary project supported by VELUX FOUNDATION spans across the grant areas Humanities and social science research and culture and Transitions and changes during the adult life.
The project 'Quality in dementia care through the implementation of person-attuned musical interactions (PAMI)' aims to improve the well-being of dementia patients through music.
The project is expected to create fundamental changes for vulnerable groups by integrating humanistic research with practical applications. This is part of our interdisciplinary collaboration between the foundation's grant areas.
