Rallying around the Meadows – a citizen-led, practice-based project for nature protection under The Green Tripartite
Project description
Rallying around the Meadows explores how citizens and municipalities can develop new forms of democratic co-responsibility for nature at a time when Denmark’s Green Tripartite Agreement is transforming landscapes and local communities. Using Lille Arden and the surrounding field landscape as a case study, the project tests a circular co-creation process that brings together local knowledge, historical sources, scientific knowledge and citizens’ lived experiences. Through dialogue meetings, historical and biological mapping, citizen-based nature monitoring and practical nature management activities, citizens develop a shared vision for the area’s future – one that gives nature a voice and makes citizens active partners in its protection. The project continuously documents both process and outcomes and translates the experience into methods, communication and inspiration that other communities and municipalities can use in their own green transition.
