METHOD. A Digital Entangled Approach to European Intellectual History

The project aims to revolutionise the understanding of the concept of 'method' in European intellectual history. By leveraging machine learning and natural language processing, METHOD will explore the influence of diverse traditions in shaping early modern Western mindsets, with a focus on the impact of migrations, cross-religious exchanges and female agency. METHOD will develop digital tools to analyse and visualise early modern texts, making complex sources more accessible. Educationally, the project seeks to enhance current teaching methods and challenges rigid views of cultural traditions, promoting a more inclusive understanding of Europe's pasts. Culturally, METHOD aims to reveal deeply entangled processes based on the cross-national movements of people but also concepts and objects, bridging the material and the immaterial.
