DKK 829 million granted to philanthropic purposes

In 2015, VILLUM FONDEN and VELUX FONDEN once again had the opportunity to fund a number of interesting activities in Denmark.

By means of DKK 829 million and more than 545 grants, scientific, social, environmental and cultural initiatives have all received attention.

In our Annual Report we elaborate on selected activities and awards that we have funded in the past year.

You can read about the opening of Villum Research Station in Northeastern Greenland or try to follow the theories of the recipient of Villum Kann Rasmussen Annual Award 2015 Mikkel Thorup as he guides us around in his universe of algorithms.

You can also read a background story of VELUX FONDEN´s new museums programme in which research and dissemination are paramount. The first five groups of researchers at universities and museum partnerships have in total been granted DKK 20.8 million.
