Local Society at the Forefront

Proactive Local Communities is a project in which Favrskov Municipality and Landsbyraadet seek to strengthen local communities’ capacity to act and enhance collaboration between the municipality and civil society. The project is based on a new approach, where dialogue, knowledge-building, and shared direction are established before specific development or construction projects emerge. During 2027-2028, development processes will be carried out in 3-4 communities through workshops, local walks, visioning activities, and the testing of new forms of collaboration. The aim is to strengthen local resilience and participation in future development and transition processes, while also providing the municipality with earlier access to local knowledge and perspectives. The project will result in practical tools and experiences for both communities and municipal staff, which can be applied broadly in work related to local development, green transition, land-use change, and citizen involvement.
