A Journey towards Local Sustainability

A Journey towards Local Sustainability develops and tests a practice-based method for democratic sustainable transition in Parkvej, Charlottekvarteret and Gadehavegaard in Høje-Taastrup Municipality. Through game-based mapping, residents, young people, children, associations, educational actors, businesses and other local actors identify resources, relationships, challenges and opportunities. Participants prioritise concrete trial actions, which are tested through the caravan method: a mobile and visible action arena with active hosting, cultural approaches and practical activities such as repair, exchange, food-waste initiatives, upcycling and locally developed initiatives. The project examines whether physical presence, joint prioritisation and trial actions can strengthen participation, ownership, agency and continuation within local and municipal structures.
