VELUX FONDEN aims to contribute to a healthy marine environment capable of withstanding climate change.
The Danish marine environment is under pressure from multiple sources, and therefore, ambitious efforts are needed to achieve a balanced sea.

We prioritize research projects and partnerships that contribute to limiting pollution of the marine environment and reducing the pressure factors on the Danish sea.

Under the initiative Combatting Marine Pollution, the focus is on the pressure factors affecting the marine ecosystem, including untreated sewage, nutrients, chemicals, marine litter, and plastic pollution, as well as impacts from shipping, including underwater noise.
