To be eligible for a partnership, organisations must meet the following criteria:
The organisation must operate nationally, with local branches/offices and active volunteers in at least three of Denmark’s five regions, including engagement in rural and less populated areas.
Activities must take place at the local level, ensuring broad outreach and impact across Denmark.
Grants must support activities carried out by identified volunteers aged 60+, helping them maintain agency and remain active contributors in their local communities.
The organisation must be able to document at least 500 volunteers or members aged 60+ who are interested in initiating or continuing activities within the grant area Transitions and Changes in Adult Life.
Activities must strengthen agency and support inclusion in communities. Funding will not be provided for cultural activities (e.g. lectures, film screenings) unless they clearly contribute to strengthening agency. The specific types of supported activities will be defined in dialogue between the partner organisation and VELUX FOUNDATION.
The organisation must have the administrative capacity to manage application processing and grant disbursement to local branches. This includes a robust secretariat function that does not depend on a single or few individuals. The Foundation’s role is to ensure that supported activities are carried out by volunteers aged 60+ and align with the objectives of the partnership.
VELUX FOUNDATION aims to ensure gender balance in its grantmaking. The partner must therefore have a plan in place to address any imbalance and describe how it will promote gender equality and diversity in the selection of supported activities.
